White Noise

Edit to add: I realize that this post is such a random post. I wondered if people thought I'd joined some type of Blogging Business venture. Nope. Definitely not. No, this is just where I'm at today... a mom with lack of sleep, with a toddler who is taking short naps. (Another again today.) I assure you I am in no way affiliated with the company that makes this nifty gadget. I just want one.... like now.
The Sleepmate 980A

Do you see this little machine? It's had a ton of great reviews. You can read one here. Basically, it's a white noise machine, and it lets out a rushing air sound like a fan...but without the cool air. With the help of this machine, babies sleep through the night, outside noises (like dogs barking) are muted, and everyone wakes up feeling so much more refreshed from a good night's sleep!

Sounds good doesn't it???

I'm buying three.

One is going in Small Fry's room, because it gets too quiet during the afternoon, and he wakes easily from his nap. (Like after about an hour). That is soooo not enough time for either him or me. No more of those pansy naps... the sleepmate 980 is gonna take care of that.

The second one is going in the big boys room. They currently share a room, and Tiger Shark has informed me on numerous occasions, that Jabber Jaw snores at night. This causes Tiger Shark to get out of bed several times at night to go over to Jabber Jaw's bed and tell him to "Shhhhh!" I have informed Tiger Shark, that "Jabber Jaw really isn't snoring, he's breathing and he pretty much needs to do that." So hopefully this will help drown out the breathing and help Tiger Shark sleep.

I can relate, when I was a kid, I was sensitive to noise when I slept. Then I married The King Fish, and I wondered what the heck I had gotten myself into! If you've read my blog before then you know that The King Fish snores.

Badly.

As in "Oh my gosh what is that sound????" I never knew snoring until I got married. I think everyone should have a routine sleep study done before they get married. It could be a deal breaker.... (j/k) At the very least, you can get pre-marital counseling on how to handle the lack of sleep.

So, anyway... one of these is going in our room to help me sleep. 'Cause I need all the help I can get!

The three together are a little pricey, but I have it covered with some money I got for my birthday.... yeah, that's right.... birthday money. It's my birthday gift to myself.

Better sleep for everyone = a happier mom.

At least that's what I'm counting on....... I'll let ya know how it turns out....

LOVE it! J has a sleep machine that I found at TRU a few yrs ago. We have ours set on rain. Rains here every night. :-) I run a fan in my room. The sound machine isn't loud enough for me.. and I can totally relate about the husband snoring. There have been many nights when I just gave up and one of us would move to the couch. LOL

I think you're going to love this! My Dad has one, and he has to take it with him when he travels, it is such a help! Good luck, and keep us posted on how it works out!

We have an alarm clock that has ocean, rain or babbling brook sounds that our kiddo sleeps to every night. Works great!
