Life Part One- Update

Here is the update that I received from Jabber Jaw via phone after his doctor's appointment. (Of course he used his real name with me on the phone, but naturally I'll substitute with Jabber Jaw).

This is Sports Center right now...

ESPN Breaking News!

Jabber Jaw has been cleared to play football this season. That's right Jabber Jaw will be playing football this season for E.B. Packers.

----------
Obviously he was very happy to receive this news from the doctor. I really thought the doctor was going to cast him for a month or two. But he gave him options, to ice it after each practice, and if it is getting worse or he is limping to stop playing and come back in and see him. So, looks like football will be a part of our fall. Please pray he makes it on the team. The team is really full and they are not taking anymore registrations. While we did register, there may not be room on the team. We will find out in a day or so.... we may have to move to a completely new league. that would not be a good thing. I think Jabber jaw would be okay wherever he played, he just loves the game so much, it's me who just doesn't love all this "up in the air stuff". We have enough stuff that is up in the air.

Also please pray for Russia right now. They are in the middle of a terrible heat wave. It's been weeks of high 90's and even 100 degrees. Most don't have air over there and wild fires have broke out in rural areas all across the country. I specifically am praying for the safety of the children in orphanages. There is definitely limited air in those old buildings and I am sure the children and caregivers are sweltering. Pray this heat wave breaks soon, and temps would go back down to a more normal level! Thanks!

Update Two coming as soon as I get everything together to launch fundraising via the web. Rachel- I probably won't be making the cards again... as I'm finding my time is so crunched lately. But who knows.. Tiger Shark loves to do crafts and maybe he can help me make a ton of them. I'll ponder that thought...

Yay! I'm glad he got a good report. Hope he makes the team. Brianna is having to try out for volleyball this year because there were so many girls who wanted to play, so I understand the nervousness of waiting. I think it may be even worse for us, the parents, because we so don't want our kids to be disappointed.

Yeah for football! My oldest played with a church's ministry club team. They played high school teams around the state. He played with them for 6 years (Jr. and Sr. high). I loved it! Hope you have a most wonderful Fall with football!

I have seen that Astrakhan (where we adopted the boys) has been in the upper 90's or low 100's. But it was that way when we were there 2 years ago. I didn't realize that other places around Russia were experiencing the same thing. We were in Siberia 4 years ago when they were having a heat wave. Like you said, they don't have good ventilation or windows to get any kind of a breeze going through. It is miserable. I'll be praying with you for all those kiddos (and especially yours)!

I just finihed reading your blog then went to Alex's blog on my sidebar. He has a neew post talking about the heatwave and some of its consequences. Very interesting since I had just found out about the fires on your blog.
