Random Thoughts from the Fishbowl

I've been running around like crazy here... it feels like circles. Like I'm a hamster on a wheel......and I can't seem to catch up.

Ever.

Just when I get one thing tackled, something else needs attention. I have been trying a new chore system for my family. It's experimental, and we've been testing it out the last week or two. I'll let you know how that goes both in theory and in practice. I'm hoping to have some sort of routine established before we start homeschooling again in a few weeks.

And speaking of homeschooling. I need to order the rest of my materials. Pronto! I bought a complete history packet, and decided that I did not want to do that history this year. I have to say though, in my defense I bought it at the very end of a homeschool convention, and my brain was fried! I was just so not thinking clearly. Picture "glazed over", 'cause that is how I felt after a full day at the convention in June.

I need to take a planning day like my friend Kris does, but unfortunately, it's hard to find the time. Seems our Saturdays are super busy, and The King Fish can not take off more time from work. Bleh! Perhaps I'll take the time over several late night evenings. I work better at night anyway.

Those who know me or have read my previous blog know that I'm a night owl by nature. I've tried various things to wake up earlier. One week I had The King Fish open the shades in our bedroom so the light came in to wake me up. Guess what? I slept right through it.. yep, didn't even notice the light! I've tried Camomile tea at night and no caffeine. Nothing really works, and truly my brain just functions better at night.

Which leads me to this question.

Why is it when I go to bed at night I have a blog post or two started in my head? It's like I'm writing in my head, as I listen to The King Fish snore. I'm looking for sleep, but wishing I was awake enough to write it all down. It's amazing how witty you can be very late at night as you are drifting off into dreamland.

Unfortunately there lies my problem... Those witty thoughts are gone when I wake up.

As in Completely.

Truly my brain must function at 1/2 it's capacity in the morning, prior to loading it with copious amounts of coffee...

So there you go... probably the most random thoughts I've written, next to my To-Do list... and trust me you don't want to read that!

Ugh - it is so hard to find an hour to do anything when you have kids let along a whole day!! It seems life is just that way!! It sure goes by fast though doesn't it?!

I agree with you on mornings. I am so not the morning person, and neither is Colby. We both have a hard time waking up. Mike is more the morning person, ready to go. I roll out of bed and don't quite function for at least half an hour. But yet, I chose teaching as a profession? Thankfully not high school!
