Maybe one day he'll grow up....

So, I mentioned in my previous post, I was sick 'puking on the way back home yesterday. For well over 1/2 the ride I was ill. Needless to say, today I've been trying to catch up around the house, and I'm tired. You know your tired when the absolutely friendly folks at Publix tell you that you look tired, and then tell you to go home and get some sleep. That's how tired I looked, and probably felt.

This evening, bone tired as I felt (and apparently looked), I did my weekly grocery shopping at Publix. Here in the south they call grocery carts (buggy's) and so an employee followed me with my buggy to my car. I had the King Fish's truck with me, and could have sworn I remembered where I parked it. I mean I looked right at the place where it was supposed to be, and it wasn't there. The poor guy must have thought me strange as I babbled to myself about where the heck I left the truck. I explained that I was driving my husband's truck instead of our van. (Like he needed to know, or that explained my sudden inexplicable loss of memory). And just one row over was the truck, it's a big truck and kind of hard to hide. It was gleaming I swear. And I told him, "I must be really tired, because I don't remember parking it there."

The very nice guy smiles at me, as if it happens all the time, and then proceeds to try to find space in the back for all the groceries. Not an easy feat when you see how much stuff is in the King Fish's truck. He finally gets everything loaded up, I thank him and step up into the truck. Guess what? The seat is back.... as in my feet are barely touching the pedals. Hmmm. My first thought is slightly alarming... "Am I in the right truck?" "Did I just load groceries into someone else's truck?" Seriously, I thought that. Then I looked around, and saw The King Fish's handwriting on some papers and I knew it was his truck. (Never mind his construction helmet and office stuff sitting there, that were huge clues).

So, my next thought was.... "Did he move the truck?" So I call him on his cell as he was picking up the boys from VBS.

Me: "Hey honey, Did you move the truck?"

King Fish: (Loud laughter, totally can't control it, cracking up hysterically).

Then I started explaining my evening of being tired, and how everyone at Publix said I looked tired, and how I couldn't find the truck and I told the employee I must have been so tired I forgot where I parked the truck.

King Fish: (More loud, uncontrollable laughter)

Which of course made me start cracking up..... he was so pleased with his little joke.... that he just cracks himself up. He's easily entertained.....

Maybe one day he'll grow up... but I hope not too soon.... :-)
