Father's Day

Just a quick post on Father's Day... we had such a fun day. The King Fish really enjoys working on projects around the house, and he really wanted to finish up a swingset we are re-building. I told him, "It's Father's Day...relax..." But he wanted to build, so for about 2 hours this afternoon he worked on the playset. It still has a while before it is finished...but he's enjoying working on it, and that is what I'm glad about.

Anyway, about 5pm I woke up Small Fry who earlier had decided to sing and jump in his crib for the first hour or so of his nap... hence he went down at 4pm and that's why I woke him at 5pm. SO, I brought him downstairs and went out to talk to The King Fish. As I was talking to him one of my son's called me that he needed me. Actually he was getting me out of the way because they planned to attack their dad with a water bucket (like they do after they win the Super Bowl). Uh-oh, I'm not sure dad is gonna like this. What followed was a major water battle with even Small Fry getting caught in the action. There were so many funny parts, but just know I got The King Fish twice HUGE! Once as he was coming around the van I had a large pitcher of water and he wasn't expecting it. The second time was at the very end of the battle, everyone was completely drenched and he was turning off the hose. I told him, "That's right dear turn off the hose all the way". (There was a half full bucket on our back deck.) As soon as I spoke those words, with no hands to defend himself, I poured the entire bucket on his head. I'm convinced the neighbors could here me cackling as I headed inside!

After everyone dried off... we had a lovely dinner and headed to our local pool for a swim. Tiger Shark and Jabber Jaw quickly found some boys to play sharks and minnows with. Small Fry joined me in the pool and all he wanted to do was jump off the side over and over. No fear.... he goes underwater no problem. I can tell that I am going to have to watch him like a hawk at the pool this summer...

We headed home at around 8:30, and put Small Fry down for the night, and then had dessert for The King Fish. Eclairs, chocolate cake and some chocolate raspberry torte thing. He loved them all! Lol!

What a great day making memories!
